The Breton Luxor Matic is the single head polishing machine for stone materials with an automatic head changing system.

This solution is characterised by ease of programming and automatic management of the work cycle without operator intervention.
The head store has 12 positions, and it can be equipped with heads with oscillating shoes for granite or Frankfurt plates for marble. Each operating head is equipped with a rugged and reliable magnetic coupling. Breton Luxor Matic is also available with a tilting work table.

Technological highlights

  • The availability of high power at the spindles is beneficial for various work processes, however this is only true if all the power supplied by the motor is transmitted to the operating head. Rather than conventional drive belts, Breton spindles are driven by multi ribbed “Poly-V” belts that prevent even the slightest slippage thus transferring all the necessary power and guaranteeing the maximum process efficiency.

    Spindles transmission with high performance belt drive

  • Water is supplied to the heads by means of a large diameter PVC common pipe rigidly mounted to the rear of the spindle and connected to it by means of flexible rubber hoses. This system guarantees rapid cleaning and maintenance operations. An ingenious system diverts the water to the exterior of the spindle body in case of overflows or duct clogging in order to protect the internal components.

  • Each operating head is equipped with a rugged and reliable magnetic coupling. Drive transmission is provided by a steel dog clutch with hardened high carbon steel teeth to ensure robustness and durable performance.

  • For the most advanced operators, the standard laser interferometer shape reading system can be replaced by a photographic reading device for acquisition of the shapes of the slabs to be processed. This system is invaluable when honing/polishing/brushing irregular shaped or non-rectangular slabs, and it allows the operator to delimit the surface to be treated on the screen.
