Giovanni Leonardo Damigella, Business Owner of Mondial Granit, tells us about the company.

An engaging conversation about the company’s history, the motivations behind choosing Breton machinery, and plans for future development.

Continuous growth

Founded in 1991, Mondial Granit brings over three decades of expertise in the natural stone industry. Driven by a vision to approach marble in a more modern and forward-looking way, the company has built its growth on continuous expansion, strong entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep-rooted passion for stone.

Today, Mondial Granit operates from its headquarters in Chiaramonte Gulfi, Sicily, across a 350,000-square-meter site, including more than 26,000 square meters of covered production facilities. With an annual output of over one million square meters of granite, quartzite, marble, and other natural stones, the company serves 65 countries worldwide and offers a broad, carefully curated portfolio of materials to international markets.

Further strengthened by direct investments in quarry ownership and by its strategic expansion in Verona, one of the world’s key stone trading hubs, Mondial Granit combines operational flexibility, global reach, and full quality control, positioning itself among Europe’s leading stone processing companies.

More than partners

Mondial Granit’s relationship with Breton is founded on direct dialogue and mutual trust. From the outset, the collaboration has been shaped by open and constructive discussions.

More than a supplier, Breton has become a true strategic partner. Through ongoing technical exchange and close cooperation, the two companies have introduced targeted enhancements and integrated complementary technologies, consistently achieving the highest standards in production quality and operational safety.

Today, Mondial Granit operates more than 10 Breton multi-wire machines, 6 Breton polishing lines, alongside 2 Breton SpeedX systems, forming a fully integrated technological ecosystem that supports continuous innovation and ensures alignment with the most advanced industry standards.

Why SpeedX

Mondial Granit invested in two Breton dual-table 5-axis bridge saws to address a critical production need: increasing tile output while maintaining maximum operational flexibility.

The Breton solution combines speed and versatility, delivering high-throughput tile production alongside advanced 5-axis capabilities. Its dual-tilting table design allows loading and cutting to take place simultaneously, ensuring a continuous workflow and significantly enhancing productivity. With two machines and four tables operated by just three team members, Mondial Granit now achieves daily outputs of up to 1,000 square meters, while simultaneously handling thickness cutting and complex architectural components.

Beyond boosting production capacity, this investment has strengthened overall operational agility, establishing the machines as highly versatile assets within the company’s manufacturing infrastructure.

Prioritizing sustainability

Sustainability is a fundamental part of Mondial Granit’s corporate vision. The company produces approximately 90% of the energy it consumes, significantly lowering its environmental impact and reinforcing a responsible approach to industrial operations.

To further reduce its footprint, Mondial Granit has planted more than 10,000 trees across its properties, including both fruit-bearing and reforestation species. This initiative supports carbon absorption while reflecting a long-term commitment to environmental stewardship and the protection of local ecosystems.

At Mondial Granit, sustainability goes beyond environmental responsibility. The company has created a dedicated workshop for people with disabilities, where participants, guided by two professional mosaic artists, craft high-quality mosaic works. A dedicated shuttle service ensures daily accessibility, fostering inclusion, engagement, and personal fulfillment.
