Marmi Bonazzo: technological precision and uncompromising quality in stone fabrication
Customer Stories present leading companies that have built long-term partnerships with Breton to grow their business.
The company featured in this Customer Story is one of the key players in the stone quarrying and fabrication sector in Italy:
Marmi Bonazzo (Volargne, Italy).
Full interview
Emanuele Bonazzo, owner of Marmi Bonazzo, tells us about the company.
An engaging conversation about the company’s history, its bond with the Volargne area, the reasons behind its investments in Breton machinery, and its vision for the future, combining automation with absolute quality.
A tradition that keeps evolving
The history of Marmi Bonazzo dates back to the 1970s, when the business was founded by the owners’ father together with his brothers. In 1991, at a strategic turning point, brothers Ettore and Emanuele, united in the company’s management, acquired the company shares and moved the headquarters to Volargne, Verona, one of the world’s leading hubs for the marble and natural stone district.
Guided by the solid teachings passed down from their father, the company has built its success on two essential pillars: maximum responsiveness in customer service and outstanding quality of the finished product. This constant evolution has enabled Marmi Bonazzo to grow from an artisan subcontracting business into an advanced partner for modern markets.
The technological leap with Breton
Marmi Bonazzo’s real technological step change took place in 2017. Taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the Industry 4.0 plan, the company installed its second Breton-branded polishing machine, creating full IT interconnection between the factory machinery and the management offices.
The decision to continue investing in Breton solutions stemmed from the proven reliability and performance delivered by the first two polishing plants already operating in the facility. The need was clear: to optimize production cycles and increase overall performance in order to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive international market.
Quality and the future: the evolution of the market
In recent years, the natural stone sector has undergone a profound transformation. Whereas in the past, working mainly as subcontractors, the focus was almost exclusively on production volumes rather than on meticulous attention to detail, today quality has become the key differentiating factor.
Customers require surfaces free from any imperfection or micro-defect. For this reason, Marmi Bonazzo has recently expanded its production facility, creating an area specifically dedicated to the meticulous inspection of the material before resin catalysis, enabling timely touch-ups and flawless finishes.

Why choose an integrated resining and polishing plant
To meet the new market standards, Marmi Bonazzo decided to focus firmly on a new, high-performance Breton plant, introducing a revolution in its workflow.
The production challenge
Previously, the factory flows did not make it possible to obtain a fully finished slab on both sides in a single cycle. The company’s goal was to overcome the limits of its older plants in order to maximize efficiency while achieving absolute excellence, including in the delicate process of slab resining.
The Breton solution
The introduction of the new integrated plant represents the cornerstone on which Marmi Bonazzo is building its production future. The installed technology makes it possible to process and finish the slab in a complete and high-performance way.
This progress goes hand in hand with increasingly advanced digitalization: processes are progressively moving toward IT-based management, supported by an ongoing training and “schooling” path that Breton’s specialized technicians provide directly to machine operators in the factory.
Results and return on investment
The forward-looking nature of Marmi Bonazzo’s technological choices is immediately reflected in the numbers and in the company’s economic and production solidity. One significant anecdote shows how the investment made in the previous polishing machine paid for itself completely in just three years of operation, confirming the value of the strategic partnership.
With the new resining and finishing plant, the management looks to the future with absolute confidence, aware that the combination of in-house expertise and Breton automation will confirm the soundness of the choice in the medium and long term, positioning the company among the quality leaders in the sector.
