Flexible and self-installing

Breton Vertika provides a simple, self-installing solution, adapted to the space the customer has available.

This type of semi-automatic slab storage system is designed to maximise the number of slabs stored in the smallest available space.

This is possible thanks to mobility of the elements and the presence of a single corridor created next to the selected element.
Each element in the store is equipped with a foot operated crank arm to release the adjacent element; this allows the creation of a corridor that allows loading/unloading operations to be conducted in complete safety.

Vertika is protected by light curtains at the sides while the two ends are equipped with safety barriers to delimit the area.

Technological highlights

The horizontal supporting surface of the element is composed of 4 wooden supports, while the rack that holds the slabs vertically is pivoted at the base, the horizontal and vertical supports are both inclined by 5°. The element uprights are fitted with anti-damage felt protections in order to allow loading of material also with the polished face facing the rack.

Safer for operators and slabs
With the system developed by Breton, the operator can disregard previously opened elements and focus only on the next element to be opened: during the corridor closing movement the element coupling action is performed independently.

Patented coupling/decoupling system
By means of a foot operated crank arm the operator releases the required element and then starts the corridor opening cycle on the electrical cabinet control panel. To extract another slab pack from an element other than the open one, the operator simply assumes a position in front of the selected element and operates the crank arm.

Foot crank for fast selection
The corridor created next to the selected element is sufficiently wide to ensure the operator can transit in complete safety and to facilitate material picking and placing operations.

Control unit, equipped with sirens and flashing lights, warning of slab store movement and possible faults.

Safety light curtains on the slab store access sides to assure conditions of absolute safety for the operator.

Vertika slab stores are designed for use with lifting and handling devices, i.e. an overhead crane equipped with spreader beam and slings for slab packs or grippers for single slabs.

Easy loading with overhead crane
The base frame is composed of a track subdivided into a section for movement of the motorised element and a second section for mobile elements, anchored to the floor by means of locking plates, without requiring foundations.
The vertical elements are supplied preassembled and installed on the slab store tracks.
