Philosophy constantly focused on research

Breton, the Italian company that has revolutionised the stone materials industrial sector on the global level, was incorporated in 1963 by cav. Marcello Toncelli together with a team of 2 partners and 3 staff members.

Breton today is a global operator present in more than 100 countries worldwide and with a workforce of approximately 1000.
Over its history Breton has produced more than 417 patented inventions, for a total of more than 1700 registered patents worldwide. The R&D department team consists of around 150 technicians and engineers dedicated to consultancy, design, and development of customised systems in order assure a competitive edge for customers.

The founder

Marcello Toncelli

A native of Piombino (Leghorn), Breton's founder Marcello Toncelli relocated to Veneto after WWII. He was a man of vision, genius, and intuition.
He was also a hard worker and extremely resolute in pursuing his revolutionary ideas in the industry. He innovated processes and products, contributing to the introduction of industrial machining processes in the natural and engineered stone sector.
