The machine, equipped with a powerful 10.000 rpm spindle and manual tool changer, is particularly suitable for frequent machining with flanged discs (available as an option) and parts with complex three-dimensional shapes.

Technological highlights

To guarantee superior rigidity and precision, Viper is equipped with a dual drive and motor system for A-axis positioning. Thanks to the brushless motors always in 'torque', backlash is eliminated and the reaction of the tool forces at work is counteracted to the maximum.

Double-drive head on A-axis
The beam is moved by a gantry system driven by a state-of-the-art Siemens brushless central motor, connected to the sprockets by a rigid axis that perfectly synchronises the two sprockets located at the most extreme sides of the beam. This makes the movements fast and precise.

The machine can be ordered with heads and spindles with different torques, powers and revolutions from model to model.

Helical tooth racks which, with respect to spur tooth racks, have higher load bearing capacity, are more durable, and reduce running noise.

Facility to configure the machine with the 900 mm or 1600 mm diameter lathe to produce even the most complex geometries by means of an external rotation axis to which the workpiece is anchored.

Roto-translating tool store offering constant availability of 27 cells for tool changes without reducing the work area or increasing the overall dimensions of the machine.
The store also allows replacements and actions to be performed from the exterior without having to shut down the machine.

Wireless RF touch probe to detect the workpiece position in the work area. This allows the utmost positioning and clamping flexibility.

Laser probe to check tool profile, diameter and length, complete with software and mounting on one of the machine columns.
It makes it possible to check the tool condition automatically on the machine and instantly correct the CAM program in order to guarantee the best possible machining precision.
