Energy Management function for savings in energy usage. Returns the energy recovered during braking to the power grid and/or supplies the energy generated by a motor during braking to another motor during acceleration.
5-axis disc-type cutting centre for high thickness slabs and workpieces
A design developed for robustness and flexibility that exploits the exceptional power and torque available to the full, with Breton's hallmark high mechanical and electronic reliability. All unique features of SpeedX.
Suitable for all work processes, from cutting of high thickness components for building, urban design and funerary art, to creation of kitchen tops, vanity tops, shower trays, various vertical claddings, drilling and shaping.
- Robustness and stability over time1
Robustness and stability over time
The entire structure of SpeedX is optimised by means of FEM and FMEA studies. This means that all the geometries in the machine's columns-bridge-carriage-ram assembly are designed to create a structure that offers exceptional stiffness when subjected to mechanical stress, this attribute being necessary especially when machining high thickness stone products. This type of structure makes it possible to achieve high levels of precision while shortening machining times.
- Intuitive and quick programming2
Intuitive and quick programming
Truly productive work shifts call for simple and fast programming software to better exploit the machine’s potential.
SpeedX has a new Siemens ultra-wide 24” touch screen control panel that allows the operator to program the required cuts with ease with just a few touches on the screen.
The Breton Sphera suite runs on Windows 10 and can be used in two modes.
Easy mode is designed for simple operations or for less expert operators, and it allows programming in just a few steps. Advanced mode makes it possible to exploit the potential of the software to the full, using all the available functions.
- Characteristics that increase productivity3
Characteristics that increase productivity
Structural components designed and assembled in Breton's plants, together with the latest generation of Siemens motors and electronics, mean this cutting centre offers top level reliability in its product class. Axis movements are provided by helical tooth racks which, with respect to spur tooth racks, have higher load bearing capacity, are more durable and emit less noise.
The spindles available for the various models guarantee the maximum power, torque, and rpm, placing them at the very top of their class.
Thanks to the use of high performance discs, productivity can be increase by up to 50% with respect to market standards.
- Safety at the next level4
Safety at the next level
Like all Breton machines, SpeedX is designed in accordance with the highest safety standards prescribed by machine construction regulations.
Front doors with large windows for complete safety when monitoring work progress. Rear casings and cable chain protection against dust, chips and dirt.
- Head with dual drive on axis A5
Head with dual drive on axis A
The two motors installed on the head, responsible for A axis movements, generate an electronic preload that offsets any backlash and increases stiffness of the head system by up to 9-fold compared to a standard single motor version. This benefit leads to the best results when processing workpieces on up to 5 axes.
The ideal solution for machining high thicknesses
The various SpeedX models differ according to the Z axis stroke and consequently to the diameter of compatible discs.
SpeedX can be equipped with discs from 400 mm to 2000 mm for execution of right-angle cuts up to 750 mm in depth.
The tilting table, spindle vacuum cups, bridge camera, and touch probe make operations of loading/unloading, set up and handling of cut pieces far faster and safer, reducing material wastage and idle times. All this affects productivity so, thanks to SpeedX, you can process more pieces in the same time, thus increasing revenues.
SpeedX stands out also due to its high reliability. All mechanical and electronic components are top quality, while assembly operations are carried out by Breton's expert technicians, all factors that guarantee long product life with a greatly reduced number of problems.

The bridge is moved by a rack and pinion gantry system driven by Siemens brushless motors of the latest generation in order to guarantee rapid and high precision movements./ 02Bridge with gantry system for rapid movements and precise positioning
This spindle is equipped with a patented rotary union mechanism that makes it possible to replace a cutting disc with an ISO 40 tool rapidly. Allows speeds of up 10,000 rpm with ISO 40 tools to enable machining with tangential force. Due to the high spindle power, a sensor checks to presence of the cutting disc in order to adapt the power output based on the specific tool installed at the time./ 03Special Genius spindle with manual tool change
A vacuum lifter can be installed on the spindle to handle slabs and workpieces safely and rapidly between one cut and the next. The system can lift up to 500 kg when all the vacuum cups are gripping. The presence of this system limits the maximum installable disc diameter to 600 mm./ 04Vacuum lifter on spindle
Robust hot galvanised steel work table with a plywood strip top; on request, the machine can be supplied in a version with a composite plastic work table. The tilting table facilitates slab loading, reducing falling risks and increasing the operator's safety./ 05Hot galvanised work table available in fixed and tilting versions
The adjustable console equipped with a Siemens terminal with a 24" multi-touch screen and keyboard-mouse surface allows the operator to program the machine easily and quickly. The intuitive Breton Sphera HMI exploits the full potential and widespread compatibility of Windows 10.
In addition to the power of the system, the use of Siemens components means being able to rely on ongoing system developments and updates plus the constant availability of spare parts, anywhere in the world./ 06Siemens 24" control panel
This system, available on request, allows the execution of rodding cuts on the slab underside to avoid sudden breaks when making cuts very close to the edge. The system can be installed on a specific floor standing support alongside the work table and it is equipped with a 400 mm diameter disc and a 7.5 kW motor./ 07Rodding cuts system
