Breton Luxor is versatile and reliable through time.

The cast iron honing-polishing unit features architecture that assures exceptional stiffness with reduced weight for high system dynamics. The 15 kW power rating ensures the maximum removal capacity of the honing/polishing tools for processing all materials. The spindle lifting/lowering movement is balanced thanks to a pair of cylinders with protected internal rods.

All aspects and components of Breton Luxor are assessed in terms of performance, durability, and reliability in the harsh conditions typical of the stoneworking industry.

Technological highlights

  • The availability of high power at the spindles is beneficial for various work processes, however this is only true if all the power supplied by the motor is transmitted to the operating head. Rather than conventional drive belts, Breton spindles are driven by multi ribbed “Poly-V” belts that prevent even the slightest slippage thus transferring all the necessary power and guaranteeing the maximum process efficiency.

    High performance spindle drive

  • Water is supplied to the heads by means of a large diameter PVC common pipe rigidly mounted to the rear of the spindle and connected to it by means of flexible rubber hoses. This system guarantees rapid cleaning and maintenance operations. An ingenious system diverts the water to the exterior of the spindle body in case of overflows or duct clogging in order to protect the internal components.

    Safety also in case of excessive supply flows

  • The external perimeter barriers formed of photoelectric cells and beam projectors keep operators safe without impeding access to the machine when necessary. This technological solution also allows perfect visibility of the work process by the operator with the absence of physical obstructions between the process and its supervision.
